"Deadpool 3" Isn't Officially in the MCU Until Ryan Reynolds Tweets About It (and He Just Did)

The Merc with a Mouth is headed to the MCU! This is not a drill! Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed in a Collider interview Monday that "Deadpool 3" will be a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie: “It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan [Reynolds is] overseeing a script right now...It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

A few hours later, Deadpool himself (Ryan Reynolds) retweeted IGN's announcement, joking that he "showed them Spiderman 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2." Hey, whatever it takes. As with previous films in the franchise, expect lots of profanity, crude jokes, breaking of the fourth wall and epic fight sequences. "Deadpool 3" will mark the first R-rated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.
