The #flowermen have been blowing up on TikTok as they strut
their stuff walking down aisles and throwing flower petals and sometimes money
at guests as they walk by, providing some much-needed comic relief and maybe
stealing the show just a teeny bit. The music is pumping and the guests are
roaring with laughter, setting the scene for the bride. Think of them as the
warm-up routine -- the comedian who comes out before the rock band to get the
audience ready.
One fashion accessory that seems to be pretty consistent with
this role is the fanny pack. Our man needs somewhere to stash his flowers,
after all, and a basket doesn’t work as well with the choreography.
These flower men all have a certain panache, too -- a definite
style. They're no shrinking violets.
Take for example this guy -- he’s got it. Did you know you can hire a
Pitbull lookalike for your wedding? Well, maybe not, as this one was a
friend of the bride and groom, but he may consider it for the right price.
Now that flower men are flooding the internet, it's the
little things that make them stand out from the crowd. Instead of flower petals,
this one decided to make it rain cold, hard cash.
Weddings are kind of like throwing money away, so why not make it literal?
Sometimes understated is good, too. This guy kept it classy with a tray full of flowers and
showered the guests with love.
What’s better than one flower man? Two flower men! These brothers make sure no corner of the
church is left unpetalled.
We’re starting to think the proper sprinkling motion is in the
wrist. We like your technique, bro.
When all else fails, small-scale pyrotechnics get the job
done, like this flower man. Go big with confetti cannons or go home!
Of course, there are those who take it a bit too far. Yikes,
my dude. This isn’t a bachelorette party. There are grandmothers and elderly aunts there, after all. In a church no less.
So are flower girls out of the game forever? Not likely, as
there’s always room for the cuteness that kids bring to weddings. Flower men
are having a moment now ,though, so they’d better enjoy it before this trend
dries up like an old rose petal.
