The brand is hoping to redefine beauty norms within the industry by telling these athletes' stories across its social platforms. The WNBA stars will discuss everything from fighting preconceived notions about being a woman in sports to self-care and taking care of their bodies. Portraits of Glossier's body heroes will also appear in newspapers and street advertisements in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. In doing so, Glossier is looking to challenge society's definition of beauty, as well as its standards.
“In the cultural dialogue right now, it’s really inspired by these WNBA players who have not only in this moment but for many years been strong voices in this dialogue, not just what they represent with their bodies, but mentally and spiritually what they represent in being very strong, opinionated and standing up for their values,” Weiss told Fast Company.
