On the Short n’ Sweet Tour, Sabrina Carpenter makes her
bouncy blond hair an integral part of her costume. From her coquettish bangs to
her cascading curls, it’s giving fairytale princess, right out of “Sleeping
Beauty.”
Here’s how to copy the “Espresso” singer’s blond bombshell style.
Color
First, starting with her color, her colorist Laurie Heaps revealed Sabrina’s signature Redken blend is shades EQ 1 oz. 09N + 1 oz. 010GI
+ 0.5 oz 09G. Laurie says “the result is a perfect buttery dimensional blonde
with a hint of iridescence.”
Shampoo & Condition
Sabrina was recently announced as Redken’s first Global
Ambassador, so her hair routine is all Redken products. She shampoos and
conditions with Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate, which repairs damage and
strengthens hair. Hair is conditioned, color is protected from fading and as a result, looks smoother.
Protect
Before styling, Sabrina’s stylist Scott King preps Sabrina’s
wet hair with Redken ABC Leave-in Treatment. This provides heat protection
and keeps hair smooth.
Volume
Next, King adds volume with a mousse like Redken Root Lifter Volumizing Spray. This lifts hair at the roots for that full, bouncy look.
Dry and Curl
King uses WavyTalk tools to dry and curl Sabrina’s hair.
With the Pro Fast Drying Hair Dryer, King overdirects “the hair when drying to create the most volume.” After
spraying with Redken High Hold Thermal Heat Protection Hairspray, he uses the
large curling wand from their 5-in-1 Curling Wand set for her cascading curls.
He uses the 1-inch attachment in small 1-inch sections. He then lets her curls
cool.
Spray
After the curls have cooled, King sprays Redken Control Hairspray “into a boar bristle brush and brush through each section for hold and to tame
fly aways and frizz.”
Sabrina’s hair stays frizz-free and full through hours of
singing, looking as good by the end as when she first started.
