1. Cookbook Club
Let’s be real — many of us can’t finish a whole book each
month, because we’re falling asleep after reading two pages. Instead, everyone
should bring their favorite cookbook. We can talk about the best recipes in our
books, take photos of each other’s recommendations and eat a dish made from the
book. Pinterest pages welcomed, too.
2. B-Movie Club
We’ll watch those important Oscar-nominated documentaries at
some point, but let’s get together to watch and discuss the Netflix rom-com of
the month, the newest, baddest horror movie or the most crowd-pleasing action
flick. These are all better with friends.
3. Trashy TV Show Club
Similar to the movie club, “90 Day Fiancé” and “The Bachelorette”
are so much better when you can react together in person. Circle your friends together to
groan, scream and dish at all the bad decisions being made on the small
screen.
4. Walk and Talk Club
In our 20s, we were all about running and hiking. Now, our joints
hurt and it's been a long day so walking and gabbing is the vibe. Everyone
bring a reflective vest and be amazed at how fast the miles pass when you’re
deep in conversation.
5. Pickleball Club
Pickleball grew to 13 million players this year, making it one
of the fastest growing leisure activities. Courts are popping up everywhere and
there’s likely one near you, so it’s time for a game.
6. Game Night Club
We always say we’re going to host a game night, but never
do, so let’s get it on the calendar for a monthly club. Take turns picking the
game and get ready for some spirited-but-friendly competition.
7. Crafting Club
Sometimes, you just want to work on your crafts while
chatting. Scrapbooking, painting, or bracelet-making — whatever you're into is cool. This cozy club only requires a table for working and maybe snacks because it’s
BYOC (bring your own crafts).
8. Boozy Club
Let’s taste wine, beer, whiskey, sake and even zero-proof spirits.
Just make sure everyone Ubers in and out, because safety is the hallmark of grownup
clubs.
9. Music Listening Club
For this club, everyone brings their favorite vinyl, cassette, CD or streaming
song and we’ll take turn being the DJ. And the best part is that the music is at
a reasonable volume so we can still hear the conversation.
10. Volunteering Club
Put together time to good use and volunteer at the
local food pantry packing meals, organize a clothing drive or build a house.
Just do something to help!
11. Meme-Sharing Club
When you get a group of teens together, they’re usually
sharing and laughing over the memes and videos on their phones. Why not get a
group of adults together and give it a try?
12. Harvest Club
You grew too many tomatoes and your friend has too many
eggplants. Bring veggies to trade, make dishes based on your bumper crop and
give each other gardening tips.
13. DoorDash Club/Dining Club
Homebodies can take turns trying takeout from new and best
restaurants while extroverts might want to go down to new places and try them
as a group. Just remember to tip either way.
