Hair is one of our most crucial features in looking put together on any given occasion. Whether running errands, in a work meeting or stepping off a plane, hair is often the “it” factor in how we present ourselves. Even though looking drop-dead gorgeous is not the main priority during long flights, doing something to refresh ourselves in flight can be a key-confidence booster when arriving at a new destination. TikToker @yeshipolitoo started the trend and has several other hair-saving tips and tricks on her page.
Here’s the video that put this trend on the map:
All you need to complete this look are heatless curling rods found here, a pair of socks and a silk scarf. Fill the socks with the heatless curling rods and section your hair off into two parts: the front of your hair and the back. You’ll want to roll the front of your hair backward, tightly against the sock, starting from the bottom, until it looks like a cannoli at the front of your head. You’ll also make this same motion at the back end of your hair. When both parts are rolled, use a satin scarf (prevents hair breakage and frizz) to tie everything into place on your head and secure the hair rolls.
For a visual of the process, @yeshipolitoo has a video tutorial:
After your hair is rolled up and tucked neatly into that scarf, all you have to do is relax and enjoy the rest of your flight. When the flight begins descending, simply untie and unroll your hair to reveal a beautiful DIY Brazilian blowout. Other ways to achieve this look (though slightly less subtle) include using this satin heatless curler from Amazon or actual hair rollers. But we think @yeshipolitoo's hack is a winner for your travels. Bon voyage!
